Make Your Own Opportunities

I received the following from an email, which I found quite insightful:

YOU MUST MAKE YOUR OWN OPPORTUNITIES

Your destiny isn't a matter of chance,it's a matter of the choices you make.
Success isn't something you wait for,it's something you must pursue.
Don't wait for extraordinary opportunities to be successful.
Seize common occasions and turn them into great ones.
Opportunities sometimes come disguised in the form of misfortune,or temporary defeat.
Start where you are.You are, at this moment, standing right in the middle of opportunity.
If you act on your dreams you can live them.

What do you think?

It sounds like a very worldy philosophy. No mention of God.

I believe that philosophies without the mention of God are not necessarily worldly. In the book of Esther, God's name was not mentioned once, but it has God's fingerprints all over the story.

There are reasons for Esther not mentioning God. And Esther is not about philosophy.

Surely by definition, a philosophy that makes no reference to God must take its lead from the world, not heaven, and is therefore worldy? Am I missing something?

I must say I agree with D.P. I would suggest this:

GOD WILL MAKE YOUR OPPORTUNITIES

Your destiny isn't a matter of chance, it's a matter of God's plan for you.
Yet Heaven isn't something you wait for, it's something you must pursue.
Don't wait for extraordinary opportunities to work for God's Kingdom.
Seize common occasions and turn them into great ones.
Opportunities sometimes come disguised in the form of misfortune,or temporary defeat.
Start where you are. You are, at this moment, standing right in the middle of opportunity.
Ask God what He wants you to do with it.

Matthew & Radagast, I agree with what you said to a certain degree. But I think that a philosophy that makes no reference to God can be sent from heaven using earthly jargons. Of course it's God who makes our opportunities, but I believe God has given us the ability to create opportunies in His strength. Like what Radagast said, seize common occasions tne turn them into great ones - I believe that's the key.

A friend said once, I don't need to get to know people to find my life partner, God will just create that opportunities. I think he is missing something there. Opportunities need to be seized or else they will go away!
