"I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need." (Philippians 4:11-12).
Not sure how many of us can say with certainty what Paul said here - being able to be content in any situation. Lately I have been reminded the importance of focusing on God in all circumstances. How? The answer is the next verse, which is one of my favorite verses in the Bible -"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Phil 4:13)
My life does not work well when I try to live it in my own strength. It does work well when I invite God to live His life in me by His strength. Every day I need to adopt this attitude: "I don't know all that this day holds, but I know God has designed my life so that I need Him today. I know that I need to be walking close to Him, depending on Him in every circumstance."
Do you think it's better to want what you have or to have what you want?
