The 5Cs of Self-Leadership

In 'The Ant and the Elephant', business strategist and Olympians, Vince Poscente, writes about the parable of Adir the ant and Elgo the elephant. Like two teammates who must work together to realize a common goal, Adir (the conscious hero) and Elgo (Adir's subconscious partner) must work as a single creature in order to reach the Oasis, their vision of paradise in the African savannah.

This simple story is a powerful metaphor designed to help the readers to strive in all aspects of lives. According to Poscente, there are five C's that will help us achieve leadership for the self:

CLARITY OF VISION - A goal with a depth of meaning has an emotional buzz.

COMMITMENT - Commit to a process of positive dominant thoughts.

CONSISTENCY - Apply consistent strategies.

CONFIDENCE - Strengthen confidence by breaking negative patterns.

CONTROL - Practice responses to the unforeseen events that may arise.

I am committed to these five C's in all areas of my life - spiritual, relationships, personal development, health and finances.
