I read this in an article today, and it got me thinking:
"Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do,someone to love, and something to hope for."--Joseph Addison
What do you reckon?

Just thinking but do we use the word happiness as synonomous with joy? I tend to think we often do. At any rate I do think those three are met in Christ. He gives our life purpose and meaning, teaches us to truly love and our hope is made sure in Him. ;-)
It certainly matters what those things are.
Hoping for something evil, like Communism, in the long run will not lead to happiness.
God Bless
Matthew
Kc, I often think that happiness normally happens when things go well, and joy doesn't depend on the circumstances. But yeah, we always use the the two words in the same contexts. I agree certainly that those three are met in Christ.
Yes that's true Matthew.
Please take care, Kitty :)
You're in my thoughts and prayers.
Jesus is with you all the time.
He's leading you to the right path.
Just continue to trust Him, ok?

Kitty, you're most welcome :)
What are friends for? HeHeHe!
Take care, sis!
your friendship really touches me sister Audrey.
Awww!
My heart and life are so touched by you and your friendship, sister! HeHe!
I reckon that happiness that does not depend upon feeling happy is true happiness.
I thought of this one day -
Happiness is the good management of our unhappiness.
