Geographic Channel states that all animals show their inner feelings through outward behaviors, but only human beings can choose not to show their true colours. It is possible for misperceptions or misunderstanding to occur. What we don't know about others may weaken the relationship. At times, our actions don't necessarily reflect our genuine feelings or personality. The potential trouble lies in not being willing to drop the facade of being your best possible self to reveal your usual self. Some people seem to fear that such a metamorphosis would be far too frightening and threatening for the other people to take.
I read somewhere that the truth seldom hurts as much as trying to avoid the truth. Many of our problems can be resolved only after we take a long, clear look at ourselves and the personalities of the people we care about. Do you agree?
I identify myself with peregrine (a person tending to travel; they are nomadic, mobile, wandering and roving), and sojo (sojourner), one who is a temporary resident in a place. We hide our true feelings from others and also from ourselves. We hide from feelings that are uncomfortable, for example hate. We say we don't actually hate. I run into this ALL THE TIME! I try to help people and tell them the way it is as kind a way I know so they can hear it and grow, but they don't hear it because then they would have to deal with uncomfortable consquences so they just pretend what I tell them isn't actually accurate.
I agree. Thus, say the Lord, know the truth & the truth will set you free. Jesus is the truth & bread of life Amen?! I just pray to have His ways in me daily.
Have a good week ahead sister Kitty:-) God Bless.
P:S Sorry I couldn't update comments on my PC for the last few days, don't know what's wrong with my PC system.
Andrea, I am at times guilty of hiding my true feelings not only from others, but from myself and even from God! We really need God's mercy don't we?
Godwyn, certainly the truth sets us free. Glad to know that your PC is working fine now :)
Yeah!
Being open and honest in the most loving way is the best.
Only then we can accept each other and love one another.
Mutual respect is the best practice :)
I agree with you Audrey. So often though, because people are afraid to show who they really are, they hide themselves and keep secrets. I am guilty of that at times too.
An animal lacks the ability to reason and can only react as their nature dictates. As believers we've been granted the freedom to align our actions with the will of God through the power of Jesus Christ. We can be honest about our thoughts and emotions but we should never react to them. Even the words we choose to use should be filtered or "seasoned with salt". ;-)
That's such wisdom in what you said here Kc. So often, I find that I am often honest about my thoughts and emotions (or feelings), but I tend to react to them. Really need the strength from God to "season" my words / actions with salt.
Need your prayers on this friends.
