New Year's Resolutions

In all the busyness of the end of year I managed to go to Belgrave Heights Convention this afternoon. In the meeting we were asked these questions today:
  • What resolutions do you carry?
  • How are those resolutions impacting your life?
  • What secret legacy do you hope to leave for future generations?

Amongst many things, one of my major new year's resolutions this year is this:

To be a better person on December 31, 2006, than I am today through prayer, Bible reading, and service to God and people. I feel that the world moves at a faster pace now, but some things should never change.

I think I'll spend some time in the next few days drafting out more new year's resolutions. So what are your resolutions this year?

My resolutions: be closer to God, be much more grateful for the blessings He has given me and be a better person, a better wife, a better mother and friend plus a better testimony of His love.

May God bless you this coming year, Kitty!

I think the resolution you've already chosen covers a lot of ground. The main thing you need now is an action plan to put parts of that resolution into concrete terms.

How will you improve your prayer life?

How will you structure your Bible reading?

What extra ways will you serve God in ministry?

Have a wonderful new year Kitty.

The only warning I want to add to your resolutions, to all of them really, is not to get ahead of God, or to begin to do things in your your flesh, enthusiasm and striving. Not that you are, but if we over-plan too much "60 minutes of this each morning, etc., I don't know, but it begins to feel like a work of the flesh instead of the dynamic that worked in ACTS, and in the New Testament. Yeah, let's become a better person through prayer, Bible Reading, no argument there. But let's wait upon Him to do it through us while we pray and read the Bible. To respond to His leading while we pray, etc. So that's my resolution, part of it. I think I'll write about it in my blog about my resolution some more. God Bless you.

I love the desire behind that resolution and I trust God will bless you with all you need. ;-)

Future generations?

I hope the Lord comes in this generation. I shall leave future generations in His hands.
